Bodegas Baigorri is proud of its building designed by the local architect Iñaki Aspiazu – a zinc and glass cube. The only sign of its existence above the ground is an impressive 400 m² glass box; the rest of the 14 000 m² winery is hidden underground in the depth of 20 metres. You will also find a restaurant there; its signature is the ideal synergy of the painstakingly selected wine and food. It is really a place to visit.

This is a project started for Jesus Baigorri in 1997.
The winery is amazingly introduced subtly into the landscape and adapted to the existing topography. The gravity-fed production process is housed below ground in an attitude of respect for the surrounding environment.

They have choosen to recover wine-making techniques from old treatises and use gravity as their ally for this winery in Rioja Alavesa.
