CASTRO BREY, S.L. Wineries were founded in 1985 by José Castro Brey, a wine lover who knew perfectly the production and artisan elaboration techniques. After a long period of emigration, he came back with the firm intention to recover the old vineyards his parents had been working. In this way, he started an ambitious project which the whole family have been involved in from the beginning, with the clear philosophy to achieve the excellent quality inside the complex world of the white wine.

A thorough care has been looked for in all our vineyards, and the periodical control visits to the wine growers of the

area who sell us their product, so as to keep the best balance in the final grape selection (as the basic primary element and base for the final quality of our wine).

Since 1985, the winery has been constantly renewed with the aim of setting the most advanced technology of the sector and, at the same time, looking for the most expert wine professionals showing coherence and honesty in their work, so that nobody in our team loses the affection and proud of offering this albariño wine, which is the result of our family effort.

This familiar endeavor was compensated in the year 2000 by the incorporation of our winery inside the Origin Denomination Rias Baixas, in the zone of Ulla in Camanzo (Vila de Cruces council), about 20 Km. far from Santiago de Compostela.

The area is a “thermal valley” situated in the riverbanks of the river Ulla. The sole is basically derived fromgranite substrates and with a smooth Atlantic climate, some 100 meters above the sea level. It is an authentically granite viticulture, where the climatic conditions for the vineyard of albariño grape are the best.

ADEGAS CASTROBREY, S.L. has a capacity of approximately 238000 liters, with a sale inside the country of 75 % of the production and it exports about 25 %.
